The Role

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Security Engineer for our client. In this role, you will harness the power of Microsoft 365 products to design and implement efficient internal solutions for managing unstructured data. Your expertise will be pivotal in creating systems that uphold the highest standards of data protection, ensuring the security of both internal and external information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise Microsoft 365: Manage the security of unstructured data across Microsoft 365 platforms like SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams to ensure a seamless and secure user experience.
  • Manage Infrastructure: Oversee and improve the Microsoft 365 infrastructure, including its configuration and maintenance to ensure performance and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Implement Security: Deploy advanced security measures, such as Conditional Access, Data Loss Prevention and encryption to protect data from unauthorised access and breaches.
  • Drive Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in data governance and security practices, utilising the latest Microsoft 365 features.
  • Monitor & Report: Track compliance and security issues within data environments, providing regular reports to support data protection efforts.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Strong grasp of data governance and security practices within Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with security configurations such as Conditional Access, DLP, and encryption.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Proficient in Security Information and Event Management technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative abilities.
