Geo-Environmental Engineer
Our clients are an independent multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in the North East of England. Established in 2008, they have consistently achieved steady growth and now boast a highly skilled workforce of technical employees across Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineering departments covering projects nationwide.
They now require a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team. The role is suitable for experienced (up to 5 years) geo-environmental engineers but we will also consider new graduates in geological and earth sciences.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing ground investigation projects, including the following:
Desk Top Study reports.
Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRA).
Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork such as trial pitting, window sampling, cable percussion, rotary drilling etc.
Supervision of remediation schemes.
Logging of soils and rocks to British Standard as well as geotechnical / geo-environmental sampling for laboratory testing.
Ground gas and water monitoring.
Depending on experience, input into interpretive reports.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
Degree in a relevant geological or earth sciences degree.
A full UK driving licence and own car.
Desirable:
Masters degree in geotechnical, environmental (earth science) or civil engineering.
