Practical Plater Trainer

£19.66 per hour (Overtime available)
An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Practical Plater Trainer.
The purpose of the role you will be responsible for delivering hands-on Plating training, assessing learners, and ensuring high-quality instruction aligned with industry standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on instruction in plating techniques, metal fabrication, welding preparation, and related processes.
- Provide feedback, support, and mentoring to learners to help them progress.
- Assess trainee performance through practical demonstrations and assessments.
- Ensure all training adheres to industry standards, best practices, and health and safety regulations.
- Develop and adapt training materials to suit different skill levels and learning styles.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to trainees to enhance their skill levels and confidence.
- Maintain training equipment and ensure it is in safe working condition.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Extensive hands-on experience as a plater, fabricator within the metalworking or manufacturing industry.
- Recognised plater/fabricator qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of plating processes, materials, tools and safety procedures.
- Previous experience in training, coaching, or mentoring welders.
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for developing others and sharing industry knowledge.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a training or educational setting.
- Hands-on experience with various plating techniques and metalworking equipment.
- Certification in training and assessment (e.g., Train the Trainer, Level 3 Award in Education and Training) is an advantage.
