Our Team

The Unsecured Credit Risk team supports the ongoing portfolio performance management and production of portfolio insights, such as loans and credit cards. We develop, monitor and review Credit strategies and policies to effectively manage the credit risk of unsecured products. We also produce and collate credit data which are presented in various governance committees to be able to manage the credit quality of the portfolio.

What you'll be doing

  • Working collaboratively with Credit Strategy owners, Commercial and Operational colleagues to identify improvements that maintain regulatory compliance, improve efficiency, or provides additional value to the business.
  • Support the development of comprehensive suite of credit risk portfolio insight, oversight, challenge, and opinion for use across a range of stakeholders including Central Committees and Governance reporting.
  • Support Credit Risk Manager in the provision of meaningful insight and making recommendations for Senior Management.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach with Risk Appetite Statement working across other teams in Credit, Risk, and the Commercial areas.
  • Build a relationship with the Credit Risk teams at an operational level to ensure that best practice is shared, challenges are raised in a timely manner to constructively shape outcomes and all requests are met.
  • Demonstrate maintenance of our internal Governance frameworks, policies and Regulatory guidelines and ensure this framework is embedded in the business to ensure sound risk practices are adopted.
  • Work under the leadership of the Credit Risk Manager of to support the development of appropriate stakeholder management processes for managing and delivering effectively for internal customers including engaging at an operational level to ensure effective operation of key processes
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, including implementation of a culture to continuously improve and rationalise processes and related complexity.

We need you to have

  • Experience in a similar analytical role of product specific experience with good Credit risk knowledge.
  • Advanced skills within data mining, manipulation, and summarisation (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, Power BI etc).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to condense and simplify complex information to other members of the team concisely.
  • The capability of operating effectively with senior leaders and stand up to robust challenge.
  • The ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment, with experience in prioritising effectively to manage various management expectations.
  • Confidence to raise new ideas from your experience or insight to ultimately influence the business focus.
  • A clear understanding of what “looks right” and can accurately review/error check own and others analysis.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Excellent understanding of data structure and credit risk strategies.
  • Understanding of the Legal and Regulatory framework and agenda, and operations of Risk and the wider business.
  • Experience in development of management information.
