Reed are working with an established client in Newcastle upon Tyne who are looking to recruit an experienced Group Finance Controller on a full time, permanent contract.This role is an integral part of the finance team and you will be responsible for managing and implementing full regulatory compliance and controls function of the organisation. Working week: 37.5 hours 

Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm 

Hybrid remote working available 

Job Duties: 
  • Lead the External compliance team and oversee all tasks under their ownership.
  • Set up and manage a monthly statutory consolidation preparation to compare against internal accounts.
  • Own the relationship with the external auditor and lead the audit to ensure timely close out and RFT responses.
  • Act as the Overall Balance Sheet owner, leading a monthly internal review with Senior Finance Managers.
  • Serve as a Finance Business Partner to a portion of our Operations team, conducting budget reviews and ensuring compliance across the wider business.
  • Manage all external reporting to ensure RFT and on-time submissions.
  • Take ownership of cash flow, ensuring all accounts are funded according to their requirements and seeking ways to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Banking Covenants.
  • Review single entity month-end management accounts ahead of group review.
  • Be the SME for Sage 200, driving scalable processes and embracing technology to drive efficiency.
  • Play a key role in our Legal Entity simplification project.
  • Ensure compliance and reporting for acquisitions and divestitures within the group.
  • Establish internal controls reporting and set up processes to ensure we’re Ever Audit Ready.
  • Manage Bank Interest.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Desirable: Fully Qualified ACCA or equivalent. Open to part qualified and QBE's. 
  • A passion for Controls and compliance.
  • Expertise in consolidation and accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to a wide range of people and build trust.
  • Strong personal leadership and time management skills.
  • Experience in Cashflow management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritise to changing business needs.
