The Role: I am recruiting an experienced Paraplanner to join the team at Co-Navigate Ltd, a leading independent Financial Planning firm based in Gosforth (Newcastle, NE3). Working in a collaborative, client focused team you will work alongside the Financial Planners, attending client meetings and using cashflow forecasting to support them in delivering a highly personalised, fully holistic, lifestyle financial planning service to a wide range of clients.

The Paraplanner will be responsible for technical research, cash flow modelling, report writing, producing recommendations and supporting with the building and implementation of the financial planning solutions required to meet a variety of clients’ needs and personal goals.

The successful Paraplanner will be Diploma qualified (Dip PFS), or qualified by experience, and will either be a career Paraplanner, or a Paraplanner who would like progress into advising in the future. Either way you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a progressive firm, while being invested in, valued and rewarded accordingly.

Salary and Benefits: up to £45,000 (dependant on experience), plus benefits including 31 days’ holiday + full support with on-going professional training and development (including the support required to become Chartered) + pension + flexible working environment + regular social and team building events etc.

Home Working and Flexibility: As you will be involved in client meetings and working in a collaborative team, this is predominantly an office-based role, but we are happy to facilitate a degree of home working and consider flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

Paraplanner, Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Financial Planners to deliver a highly personalised holistic financial planning service, focused on improving all client outcomes and ensuring client needs are met to an exceptional standard.
  • Prepare for and attend client meetings with the Financial Planners, developing relationships with clients and acting as first port of call for client queries.
  • Undertake technical research, compile financial planning recommendations and implement solutions.
  • Analyse portfolios, benchmarking, rebalancing and on-going portfolio maintenance.
  • Analyse client data and prepare cash flow analyses (using Voyant)
  • Liaise with product providers and other third parties.
  • Provide the best level of customer experience, keeping in regular communication with clients, by telephone, email and letter.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to the administrative support team, ensuring the highest levels of client service are delivered.
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance standards are met.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of best practice within the business.

Paraplanner, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 18 months experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS) - highly preferable
  • Knowledge and experience of all areas of financial planning - investment portfolio management, pensions, taxation, protection, estate planning etc.
  • A strong relationship builder and collaborative team player with a caring and quality focused, customer centric approach.
  • Intelligent with a strong technology and mathematical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage workflow effectively.
  • Preferably keen to work towards (or working towards), becoming a Chartered Financial Planner (support with this will be provided).
  • Preferably - experience of, or keen to learn, cash flow modelling (Voyant)
  • Preferably - experience of dealing with complex financial planning or high net worth clients.
