MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client, based near Newcastle, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a permanent Specifications Manager. The Job Youll Do;

Build and maintain relationships with all UK Customers and act as the primary point of contact for all customer queries.

Manage the entire specification process for products, from initial request to final specification completed

Build and maintain relationships with all sourcing entities for manufacturing sites suppling UK customers.

Responsible for maintaining all customer portals.

Responsible for answering all customer queries & Specification requests that directly relate UK Customers for product produced either in UK or BI sourcing entities.

Ensuring Food labelling and regulatory checks are completed for all UK & EU products

Technical representative at C2L Project Meetings, responsible for communicating key details back to wider team.

Update the C2L project tracker with relevant project details, relating to specification, artwork timing etc

Provide technical support and guidance to the R&D

Responsible for ensuring and where needed the specification generation process from receiving the Product Information Sheet (PIS / PIP) at the Industrialise stage of a project through to specification approval.

Where relevant, creating specifications on various customer portals, TQC, MCreate, Engage, APP, Wave etc within project deadlines

Responsible for tracking & spend of Specification & Cost of doing business budget. i.e. specification, customer portal, customer audit, customer own testing costs etc.

Responsible for managing all UK customer KPI data.

Responsible for ensuring Technical Artwork approval for UK Produced products are completed.

Where required support day to day running of the UK site Technical team.

Management, training and development of Compliance Team

All reasonable requests made by the Head of Technical or Technical Manger

About You;

Degree or HND in Food technology or equivalent

Level 3 Food Safety

Level 3 HACCP

Computer literacy (Microsoft packages), SharePoint.

Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial role in a FMCG manufacturing environment.

Minimum 2 years experience of managing a specification process within the Food Industry

Minimum 2 years experience in UK Retailer supplier food manufacturing environment

Thorough understanding of retailer practices and frameworks

UK & EU Food Labelling experience

Analytical, with good communication and organisational skills

Highly motivated and capable of independent analysis

Dedicated and tenacious Team Leader.
