Senior Practitioner - Initial Response Team

About the Role: Randstad is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Initial Response Team in Newcastle.
This role is crucial for providing immediate and effective support to children and families at the point of first contact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Initial Assessments: Conduct and oversee comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and risks of children and families at the point of first contact.
  • Safeguarding: Implement immediate safeguarding measures to protect vulnerable children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions quickly, coordinating the appropriate interventions and support services.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to social workers within the Initial Response Team, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation and policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work Qualification: Must be a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Significant experience in child protection and assessment within a frontline social work setting.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
