SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students in Newcastle. This role focuses on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Job Summary:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that promote student well-being.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and understanding classroom environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavioral plans under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
