Role Profile

As an HR Adviser, you will play a crucial role for a leading public sector organisation in Newcastle. Your primary focus will be on providing expert HR support to line managers and employees, with a particular emphasis on employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to line managers on a wide range of HR matters, including performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievances, and absence management.
  • Coach and advise managers on best practices for handling sensitive employee issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into complex employee relations cases, preparing comprehensive reports and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Facilitate mediation sessions to resolve workplace conflicts and improve team dynamics.
  • Support managers in implementing change management initiatives, helping to minimise disruption and maintain employee engagement.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from job analysis and advertisement to candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Prepare and issue employment contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Review, update, and develop HR policies and procedures to ensure they are current, compliant with legislation, and aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Communicate policy changes effectively to all employees and provide training to managers on policy implementation.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in employment law and ensure organisational compliance.
  • Lead or participate in HR-related projects as required.

This role requires a proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will be expected to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest standards of professionalism at all times.
