NRG is excited to partner with a highly regarded IT Consultancy and Managed Service Provider (MSP) in their search for a skilled 3rd Line Telecommunications Engineer. Our client is experiencing significant growth and expansion, seeking driven and versatile engineers ready to elevate their careers to new heights.
You will play a key role in delivering high-level technical support for intricate telecommunications challenges. This position involves conducting advanced diagnostics, resolving intricate issues, and work closely with fellow support teams in order to provide optimal service and performance. The role demands in-depth technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capability to lead high-impact projects effectively.
Key duties:
- Provide 3rd line support for telecommunications systems, including VoIP, SIP, PSTN, and mobile networks.
- Resolve complex technical issues escalated from 1st and 2nd Line Support teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Handle sophisticated configuration, upkeep, and monitoring of telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Carry out system upgrades, updates, and enhancements to maintain peak performance and reliability.
- Oversee and contribute to telecommunications initiatives, such as system migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.
- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Offer specialised guidance and assistance to customers and internal teams on telecom-related topics, including delivering training sessions.
- Maintain clear and prompt communication with stakeholders, keeping them informed about issue progress and resolution schedules.
What we are looking for:
- Comprehensive understanding of telecom protocols and systems, including VoIP, SIP, PSTN, and mobile networks.
- Hands-on experience with tools for telecom monitoring and diagnostics.
- Strong expertise in telecommunications network infrastructure, encompassing routers, switches, firewalls, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance obligations in the telecommunications industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proven capability to operate independently and drive projects to completion.
