Role Overview

This team are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage and enhance complex IT infrastructure, which includes 70 servers (primarily Windows), 400 users, and 40 switches. This role is critical in maintaining our bespoke applications and ensuring the reliability and security of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, budget, and deliver IT projects that align with business objectives.
  • Vulnerability Management: Utilize Nessus for vulnerability assessments and develop remediation plans.
  • Technology Improvement: Identify and implement new technologies to enhance business processes.
  • Business Case Development: Create and present business cases to senior leadership for project budget approvals.
  • Training & Support: Train Information Services team members and provide technical support for complex IT issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements, including SOPs, documentation, and diagrams.
  • Backup Infrastructure: Regularly review and test backup systems to ensure reliable data restoration.

Key Skills Required

  • Network Infrastructure Management: Expertise in designing and implementing network switches and firewalls, specifically with Cisco and Palo Alto solutions.
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Migration: Proven experience in transitioning from Citrix VDI to laptops and desktops while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • System Upgrades: Strong background in upgrading operating systems to Windows Server 2019, enhancing overall security and performance.
  • Remote Access Solutions: Skilled in implementing VPN solutions to support remote working capabilities for employees.
  • Data Security Implementation: Experience in leading the global rollout of BitLocker encryption across multiple sites to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Virtualization Technologies: Proficient in migrating virtual servers to VMware vSphere 7, improving system uptime and facilitating effective security patching.
