Our TeamWe're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and skilled Solution Architect to join our dynamic Enterprise Systems team. We're a dedicated group with a singular focus: delivering cutting-edge technology to empower our colleagues to deliver top-notch customer service at lightning speed. In this role, you will be leading modernisations and solutions and work with enterprise architecture, ensuring our systems are scalable, secure and efficient.

You would work across projects like Cloud migration using Pega, Migration to Power Automate Desktop, building new capabilities using Microsoft Dynamics. If you are passionate about spearheading the delivery of top-notch solutions, this role might be the perfect fit for you!

What you'll be doing• Design and support delivery of robust system solutions, aligning them with business needs and technology strategy• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions including stakeholders in security, networks, infrastructure teams• Review technical architecture for integration with other applications and components within Virgin Money and third parties as applicable• Design architectures that are secure, scalable and optimised for performance• Providing technical leadership and support to software development team• Work with relevant areas (e.g. Devops, Release Management, QA) to enable faster release and deployment cycles• Investigating and analysing current systems in use and recommending ways to improve efficiencies• Researching the latest technologies• Assess business impact of certain technical choices• Monitor progress of ongoing projects and initiatives from a solutions perspective• Document all architectural designs and analysis in a comprehensive manner for future reference

We need you to have• Experience in a solution architect role, with the ability to lead the strategic and technical • Experience in project management and service-oriented architecture (SOA)• Knowledge of selected coding languages (e.g. JavaScript, Java)• Experience in cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure)• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience• Problem solving aptitude• Degree in Software engineering

It's a bonus if you have but not essential• Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.• Experience in projects migrating on-premises workloads to Cloud (laaS, PaaS and SaaS)• Experience working in Financial Services or Other regulated market sector• Deep technical knowledge and demonstrable understanding across Data Centres & Cloud• Experience analysing hardware and software
