Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Designer to join the team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. In this role, you will be responsible for creating bespoke solar PV system designs that meet client requirements, comply with industry standards, and optimise energy output. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects using industry-standard software
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine system suitability.
  • Prepare detailed layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics.
  • Collaborate with the sales and installation teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and practical for implementation.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations, standards, and technological advancements.
  • Liaise with clients to address design-related queries and provide technical guidance.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Solar PV Designer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency with design software such as PV*SOL, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of UK building regulations and renewable energy standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and efficient designs.
  • Degree or diploma in renewable energy, electrical engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
