The Newcastle Office of a world leading law Firm, is currently recruiting for a Finance Operations Billing Supervisor.

The Finance Operations Biller Supervisor operates as part of the Working Capital Management team located within the UK Finance Department. The role supervises the team responsible for effective delivery of bill preparation, production and support to teams across EMEA. The role requires a self-starter with experience of supervising/leading a billing team to deliver accurately to tight deadlines and SLAs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously manage the team workload and develop effective ways of working accurately and efficiently, whilst meeting all business expectations and SLAs
  • Positively engage with the team to enhance their development throughout the year and whilst carrying out annual performance reviews
  • Manage team performance/behaviours effectively and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the team through means of promoting training sessions and knowledge sharing by becoming a first-hand super user
  • Improve ways of working and efficiencies with a view to refine and advance processes
  • Ensure work is delivered to the highest standard, measuring quality and minimising errors
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Working Capital Team to ensure appropriate escalation of team issues and to establish better ways of working
  • Provide support to Team Leader by taking on extra responsibilities when required and working additional hours during month-ends and at other business critical times
  • Support on-boarding and embedding tasks as future phases are deployed, and recruiting new team members to support the roll out

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous supervisory experience ideally in a billing/finance services environment
  • A team player with strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise at all levels
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the confidence and gravitas to liaise at all levels within the business
  • Knowledge of practice management systems (e.g.…. Aderant Expert, Elite or SAP)
  • Self-motivated and dedicated
  • Strong Microsoft Office application experience i.e. Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Ability to manage change and support teams through any future changes
  • Must be articulate and professional in delivery, with a well-developed sense of discretion
  • Good knowledge of HR policies and procedures that support people, performance and behaviours
