The RoleAn exciting opportunity to join a growing North East organisation on a 4 month interim basis.  In this tole you will provide analytical support to internal and external colleagues. Lead complex data analysis and visualisation projects to support policy development processes and decision-making within the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who is confident with data and is passionate about making a meaningful impact through its application.Key Responsibilities
  • To undertake analysis of official datasets and other relevant reports and data to inform the development and delivery of key strategic documents, including the Corporate Plan and Local Growth Plan. 
  • To work with colleagues to identify additional sources of data, including commercial and innovative datasets to help the organisation and its partners to better understand the North East region
  • Present complex analysis and outputs in a clear, accessible manner to a range of audiences including writing reports, online summaries, briefings and delivering presentations.
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners at all levels to facilitate information sharing and collaboration
Essential for the role
  • A degree or equivalent in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or related field. 
  • Demonstrable experience at working nationally, regionally, and locally in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable working in an analytical role to inform policy development and decision making.
  • Experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting complex data sets, analysis and research to a wide range of audiences.
  • Work experience which shows that you can succeed and develop within the role.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, Power BI or similar.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
  • Strong analytic and problem solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral including the ability to present information in an easily understood, accessible format
