EL/PL Lawyer – NewcastleOverview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employer’s Liability and Public Liability (EL/PL) Lawyer to join a leading law firm in their Newcastle office. As part of a dynamic and supportive team, you’ll handle a range of high-quality defendant EL/PL claims, working with prominent clients across various industries. This role offers the perfect blend of career progression, flexibility, and challenging work.Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a caseload of defendant EL/PL claims, including both pre-litigated and litigated files.
  • Advising insurers, corporate clients, and public sector bodies on liability, causation, and quantum.
  • Conducting investigations, drafting legal documents, and preparing cases for settlement or trial.
  • Attending court hearings, mediations, and conferences as required.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent communication and service.
  • Collaborating with colleagues nationwide on complex, high-value claims and strategic projects.
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor or legal executive with 2+ years of experience in EL/PL defendant claims.
  • Strong technical knowledge of personal injury law and procedural rules.
  • Experience in handling claims for insurers, corporate clients, or public sector organisations.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills, with confidence in court and settlement discussions.
