A prestigious law firm is seeking a qualified Private Client Solicitor or experienced fee earner to join its team. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will play an integral role in providing comprehensive and accurate legal advice to both existing and new clients.

Private Client Solicitor Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional legal advice and guidance on a wide range of private client matters, including Wills, administration of estates, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), trusts and estate planning
  • Manage a diverse caseload while maintaining accurate, detailed and up-to-date case files, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including Wills, trusts and LPAs
  • Guide clients through probate and estate administration processes, drafting all associated documents, including Legal Statements, HMRC forms, Deeds of Variation, asset transfer forms and R185 forms
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities to raise the profile of yourself, the team and the firm
  • Supervise and support junior team members as needed
  • Administer trusts created during a client’s lifetime or upon death, ensuring all HMRC compliance and collaborating with trustees, investment advisers and accountants
  • Develop your own network of introducers to enhance business development efforts

Private Client Solicitor Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor or experienced fee earner with expertise in private client law
  • Strong knowledge of Wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, tax planning and asset protection
  • Ideally, a qualified member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners)
  • Proven ability to balance client demands with caseload and non-casework responsibilities
  • Adherence to all file and case management policies, including compliance and accurate time recording for billing
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality legal advice and achieve positive client outcomes
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with colleagues
  • Commitment to maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation and case law, ensuring continuing competence
  • Familiarity with IT systems and a willingness to engage in business development activities
