Residential Development Associate – NewcastleA leading national law firm is looking for a talented Residential Development Associate with 3-6 years PQE to join its highly regarded team in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced partners, receiving valuable mentorship while contributing to high-profile residential development projects.About the RoleThe successful candidate will be involved in a wide variety of work across the residential development sector, providing legal services to major housebuilder clients and property developers. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting and negotiating land acquisition deals, strategic option agreements, and promotion agreements, along with ancillary documentation such as transfers, overage deeds, and funding agreements.
  • Advising on brownfield regeneration schemes, including joint ventures with Registered Providers (RPs) and public sector bodies.
  • Supporting clients in large-scale disposals of affordable housing to RPs and bulk sales of units to PRS and BTR providers.
  • Supervising junior solicitors (0-3 PQE) and a Trainee Solicitor, fostering a collaborative environment within a specialist residential development team.
  • Participating in client training and business development events to build and strengthen client relationships.
