Talent84 is delighted to be representing our client, a highly successful engineering organisation specialising in large-scale, complex electromechanical products with a global customer base, in their search for an Engineering Manager.

About the Role

In this newly created role, due to continued growth, my client seeks an Engineering Manager to join the engineering function in this senior-level position to manage a multi-disciplined team that provides technical support to all other departments. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Engineering Manager will have overall responsibility for the day to day management of product design, innovative product development and the delivery of the complete manufacturing and technical data packs.


Main Responsibilities
  • Day to day technical management and leadership of the engineering disciplines teams and personnel
  • Day to day engineering team administration and coordination support
  • Responsible for the full suite of engineering procedures within the company quality system
  • Identify areas for process enhancement and implement best practices in engineering
  • Review and validate engineering resource input to all estimates.
  • Ensuring that all Engineers are fully aware of their responsibilities and are aligned with the relevant project requirements
  • Mentoring of engineering teams to enhance performance and professional growth
  • Providing feedback into the appraisal reviews with the functional discipline leads and Engineering Director You will collaborate with product teams on strategy, roadmap and decision making to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Communicating professionally with fellow staff, directors, and clients
About you

To be considered for the role, it is essential that you possess demonstrable experience gained in a senior engineering management capacity in an engineering organisation. You will be a degree qualified engineering professional, with demonstrable design and NPD expertise before having moved into a managerial role.

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related subject
  • A proven track record as a Engineering Manager
  • Experience in the leadership and development/mentoring of staff and to help develop others by sharing your knowledge and
  • A proven track record as a technical designer and engineer
  • Good general understanding and knowledge across all engineering disciplines
  • Proven record of delivering technically challenging
  • Able to think laterally when problem
  • Ability to investigate and interpret data, issues, and situations, to make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Acts with honesty/integrity to build trust, respect, and commitment in the workplace
  • Experience with change management and facilitating change management programmes/projects.
  • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal awareness
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS office
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
