The Company

Our client is a successful construction principle contractor who work nationally from their multiple offices across the country. They are looking to appoint a Site Manager to manage a fast track project refurbishing a hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne city centre. Their success has led to a sharp increase in turnover.  The Company has the aim to continue with their growth over the coming financial year.s They have developed an excellent reputation for themselves in market sectors including: Office, Hotel, Prime residential, Commercial and Apartments. They are an entirely relationship driven business and pride themselves on the fact that over 70% of their workload is negotiated with existing clients that they have built relationships with.


The Site Manager Role


This role could is suitable for a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager looking to work in a more dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be expected to execute the designated role to the agreed programme, in line with Health, Safety and Environmental standards expected by the client and company.

The position will be managing of a site in Newcastle upon Tyne city centre that will run for a approximately 13 weeks. The project is the fast track refurbishment of a hotel.

It is expected that the successful applicant will be capable of running the project on a day to day basis with the assistance of a visiting Project Manager. As the Site Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the project with both refurbishment and fit out elements across muliple floors on a phased programme of works from inception to completion.


Responsibilities include:


Managing the project on site

Managing the build program

Some inductions if required

Managing Health and Safety

Working closely with all sub-contractors to ensure projects finish on time.

Liaising on all levels to ensure effective communication is always maintained.

The ideal candidate will have previously managed fast track refurbishment sites within the construction and refurbishment sectors, experience of hotel, office, student accommodation, commercial, and PRS apartment schemes is beneficial.  

As the Site Manager, you will be required to be a self-motivated individual who is autonomous in your role, whilst being able to drive subcontractors.

It is essential that you hold SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Asbestos Awareness and First Aid certificates. 

The project will commence initially on the 21st October for q week and then in full from the 11th November 2024.

Remuneration:

Dependent upon experience, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn up to £280 per day DOE.
