Support Material Handler

Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear

£12.21 per hour

An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Support Material Handler. 

The purpose of the role you will be responsible for effective execution of tasks of unloading / loading, receiving, storing and issue of goods in a modern manufacturing environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unloading/ loading of goods for despatch with FLT or crane
  • Paperwork requirements and the essential nature of documentation
  • Marking of goods to retain traceability through the process
  • Movement of goods to ensure no disruption to the production process with FLT or crane
  • Storage of goods ensuring location information is fed back to update the system
  • Packaging of goods for internal and external movement ensuring any customer specifications are followed and no damage can be done in transport
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager or a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Inventory management / cycle counting
  • Order Kitting
  • Movement of material between operations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Forklift Counterbalance Licence essential
  • Crane Operations Certificate desirable
  • A reasonable standard of education is required, with IT skills, key will be attitude.
  • An interest in logistics, purchasing and supply chain operations.
  • The ability to interact with people at all levels within/external to the Company
  • The ability to follow instructions but also be able to self-prioritise workload
  • Must be prepared to work flexibly as part of a team.

Competitive remuneration package offered. 

£12.21 per hour depending on experience (Additional overtime available)
