Our client one of the UK's largest Facilities Management companies are looking for an Air conditioning Engineer in the Newcastle area.
Job PurposeÂ
To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Repairs to Split Air Conditioning Units, Variable Refrigerant Volume Systems, Cold Rooms, Commercial Fridges, Chillers, Air Handling Units and other associated Mechanical and HVAC plant within various buildings.
Key Tasks
- Solely responsible for statutory compliance of F-Gas
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems and air handling, air conditioning systems and chillers
- Update F-Gas register (FG2) after each building is serviced
- Populate F-Gas paperwork in line with processes (FG6, FG7 and FG16) and upload to eLogbooks.
- Diagnose faults on various air conditioning, heat pumps, refrigeration or air handling systems and carry out necessary remedial repairs
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Deliver sound fault-finding skills on all forms of Air Conditioning, including Chillers (Recip, Screw etc), Splits, VRF and Refrigeration Plant
- Provide initial response to chiller faults logged by the helpdesk, repair if able or report to specialist contractor
- Carry out installation of air conditioning systems from time to time
- Ensure that Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
- Ensure Site Logbook and FGas Register are completed in a timely and accurate manner and are maintained in accordance with procedure
- Be responsible on day to day basis for all aspects of but not limited to; maintenance regime, reactive and PPM, compliance.
- Deliver an excellent working knowledge of AC and associated plant, such as Fans, controls, pumps, pipework
- Deliver excellent documentation skills to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
- Ensure refrigerants are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules, and track/optimise equipment reliability
- Keep up to date with and have an awareness of new products and new improved working methods that can add value by improving quality and reducing costs
- Undertake maintenance surveys and produce reports accurately and concisely as required
