We are looking for a Rolling Stock Electrical Technician to join one of our key rail clients based in Newcastle on a permanent basis. The individual will be working with State-of-the-art trains and for an integral part of the team.

This role has a salary of 54,000pa (with shift allowance) rising to 59,400pa (with Shift allowance) after completing competencies, the role is working shift covering 24/7 including Nights, 36 hours a week.

The ideal individual will have to have had exposure to the Rolling stock industry however isn'tnecessaryas those out of industry such as RAF, REME, Avionics, FMCG, Offshore, brewery, mining, Navy, Army, Armed Forces and other equipment based industries etc will all be considered given they have the required fault finding & Dignosis skills.

This is an Electrical bias role and candidates will be required to pass an electrical fault finding assessment as part of the recruitment process

Your Tasks
  • Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair required
  • Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces
  • Provide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents. Provide leadership and supervision to production teams as required.
  • Act as systems specialists (systems to be distributed throughout the team)
  • Perform functional system tests on mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems and performing specific measurements as prescribed/required
Your Profile
Essential:
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/ BTEC level with Mechanical / Electrical / electronic bias Level 3
  • Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques and the interaction between these, conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical / mechanical schematics competently
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
