We are looking for a Technical Manager from a Catering background to lead and manage catering systems, equipment, and operations across various facilities in Newcastle. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a Skilled Team: Manage and guide a team of catering engineers, ensuring they follow best practices for equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Oversee System Efficiency: Ensure that all catering equipment and systems (e.g., ovens, refrigeration, dishwashers, HVAC) are regularly maintained, tested, and running efficiently.
  • Drive Energy Efficiency: Implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and lower operational costs while maintaining high-quality service standards.
  • Project Management: Oversee catering system installations, upgrades, and refurbishments, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and relevant environmental legislation related to catering equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues: Diagnose complex technical issues with catering equipment and systems, providing hands-on support when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in catering equipment management, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of catering systems and equipment, including commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration, ventilation, and HVAC systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing and developing a team of technical staff in a catering or facilities management environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and safe working practices in a catering environment.
