Production Manager Job Purpose:

The Production Manager will be fully responsible for the performance of manufacturing and operationswithin the business.The role involves ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, optimizing processes, and meeting customer satisfaction goals. The Production Manager will work closely with the MD andproduction teamto achieve business objectives, driving departmental collaboration, continuous improvement, and enhance profitability.

Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations for the facility
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring production output targets are achieved.
  • Manage resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required in line with business needs.

Process Optimisation:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of quality and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to minimize defects and rework.
  • Address customer complaints and implement corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production supervisors and machinists
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute operational strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term plans for capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and market growth.
  • Manage data collection to analyse metrics to highlight trends or identify improvements.
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to senior management.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a safe working environment and drive initiatives to reduce workplace incidents.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Training and Experience:

  • Proven experience in CNC / machining
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience in strategic planning and process optimisation.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
