Senior Geotechnical Engineer

I'm currently working with a global offshore geoscience and geotechnical engineering consultancy, with a robust project pipeline in the offshore renewable energy sector across regions such as the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, USA and Asia. We are looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Newcastle office in a senior leadership capacity. In this role, you would manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee projects from technical, financial, and administrative perspectives.

Key Responsibilities


* Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor teams comprising geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, geophysicists, and GIS specialists.
* Project Management:
Oversee project execution, including budgeting, resource allocation, client liaison, and quality assurance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
* Technical Delivery:
Develop and implement geotechnical design methodologies for offshore foundations, cable systems, and other infrastructure elements.
Apply advanced numerical modelling techniques (e.g., FLAC or PLAXIS) to solve complex soil-structure interaction challenges.
* Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including Basis of Design, Ground Investigation Reports (GIR), and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDR).
* Client Engagement:
Represent the company at client meetings, industry conferences, and workshops, contributing to business development and research initiatives.
