Bonding Supervisor -Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear
An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Bonding Supervisor.
The purpose of the role you will be responsible for the supervising a team of technicians of the installation of composite components into a vehicle chassis to the required quality standards and project timescales.
You will need to work well within a small production cell with the ability to build relationships and communicate well with the other business functions, especially the Engineering and Quality team.
This is a hands-on role which will involve bonding and fitting of panels.
You will also be a key contributor into the development of the manufacturing process and tools for this task.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install interior vehicle composite components using bonding methods to the required level of quality within the required project timescales.
- Maintain production work area to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Fabricate shop aids, required tooling, test specimens and developmental parts where required
- Maintenance of the production logs and documenting all work for traceability and auditing.
- To participate in the training programme, undergo further training as required and participate in schemes to ensure on-going competence.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Strong team management and development skills and experience
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, documentation, work orders, quality specifications, and process guidelines
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to meet company goals and objectives.
- A positive can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and working safely.
- Previous experience within a manual manufacturing environment including development of manufacturing processes and process improvement.
- Experience with armoured vehicles would be preferable but not essential
- German language is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience with bonding applications desirable.
Full training for this role will be provided which will include a 3-week secondment to Munich, Germany for technical training. We will consider people who have worked within wet work type environments for example, paint shop, adhesive production lines, composite manufacturing or bespoke uses of silicone.
The hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday.
