Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading subsea business who are looking to hire an EC&I Engineer to work within their progressive and innovative team.

This is a permanent, full time in the office position based in the North East.

  • As an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of offshore and subsea equipment.
  • You will be involved in the full life cycle of projects fromdesign, development, installation, test, customer acceptance, documentation, training and after sales support.
  • You will provide support to other business functions, including Sales, Project Management, Procurement, Production, Commissioning, and Documentation.

The role is varied, and you will be typically involved in a range of different designs, including:

  • Offshore subsea equipment
  • Interactive ergonomic control systems
  • Power and control panels
  • Motor control centres
  • Low voltage power distribution systems (1ph & 3ph)
  • Network and communication systems, including RS485, MODBUS, and Ethernet protocols

Your duties will include the following:

  • Sizing and selection of power system components (motors, starters, drivers, transformers, switchgears etc)
  • Cable sizing and type selection for glanding and routing
  • The creation of I/O Lists and the measurement systems and instrumentation
  • Selection and integration of subsea surveillance, vision and lighting systems
  • Using CAD to design and produce top level system diagrams, interconnecting wiring drawings, and detailed electrical, control & instrumentation schematics
  • Using CAD to design and produce engineering data including Bill of Materials, General Arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
  • Maintenance and updating of Bills of Materials and parts database
  • Creation of Functional Design Specifications in conjunction with other Engineers (Mechanical, Hydraulic, Software, Electrical/Electronic)
  • Machine Risk Assessment and design of safe equipment
  • FMEA/FMECA analysis
  • Design & Project reviews
  • Production of Commissioning & Factory Acceptance Testing documentation
  • Production of User Documentation
  • Creation and delivery of customer training material
