The successful English lecturer will have the following skills and qualifications, or be willing to work towards: 

  • Experience in delivering either GCSE level or functional English
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a Higher Education degree relating to English
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour. 
  • Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting is desirable but not essential 
  • A good communicator, and above all else be a kind and resilient person. 
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to apply for one via Reed.
