We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work at our partner school in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students as they prepare for their SATs assessments and to be part of a dynamic educational environment; our client is a larger than average, Ofsted Good, Primary School where students 'love to learn'! 

We are seeking both qualified applicants, or those qualified through experience, that have worked in a similar capacity before. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Intervention Support: Work closely with Year 6 students to provide targeted interventions, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Individual and Group Work: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on areas of development. Equally, providing support to gifted and talented pupils accelerate their potential. 
  • Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking student progress, identifying areas for improvement, and adapting interventions to meet individual needs.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare educational materials and resources that enhance learning and make lessons more interactive.
  • Behaviour Management: Support the maintenance of a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting good behaviour and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and ways they can support learning at home.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Participate in and help organise extracurricular activities and school events, fostering a well-rounded educational experience for students.
