Molding Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Molding Operator to join our client's team on a 12-week temporary basis, with the potential for permanent employment.

Reporting to the Mold Manager, this role involves a variety of responsibilities including mixing materials, setting up molds, and ensuring quality control standards are met. This position is ideal for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and engage in the manual aspects of the job while working in a safe and orderly manner.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Mix materials and set up molds for production.
  • Remove and inspect molded components from machines.
  • Control machines and monitor production schedules.
  • Perform press insertion of brass inserts into molded components.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot problems and report potential issues to the Mold Manager, including quality and health & safety concerns.
  • Work collaboratively within a small team or independently as required.
  • Be prepared to work overtime when necessary to meet production demands.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of injection molding processes and quality control standards is advantageous, though comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a manual aptitude for tool changing.
  • Ethical attitude in all aspects of the job.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team or independently.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Benefits:

  • 37.5-hour work week: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch, and Friday 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM.
  • Company pension scheme available after successful completion of the probation period.
  • 20 days holiday plus statutory holidays.
