Early Intervention Assistant

Prospero Teaching are working with an outstanding Primary School in Ashington who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils on Early Intervention Programs. This role is to start from January 2025 for the rest of the academic year on a full-time basis.

Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience.

The role will involve supporting pupils in nursery and reception who have SEN and developmental disabilities on a 1:1 and small group basis so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.

This role will involve:· Supporting pupils in nursery and reception with SEN and developmental disabilities.· Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.· Building and maintaining positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.· Preparing resources for learning activities and lessons.· Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.· Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with the pupil.· Liaising with parents and outside agencies to discuss progress as required.

This role requires:· An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)· a recognised Childcare-based qualification.· An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.· A resilient, proactive, and positive nature· Experience of supporting pupils in a School setting.· Ideally experience of 1:1 Support within a School setting· High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.· A genuine passion for supporting young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.· An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
