We are seeking a Senior Category Manager- IT Category to manage the procurement and supply chain department for a not for profit organisation. The role is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and offers the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful industry.

Description

As a Senior Procurement IT Category lead you should be;

  • Responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing a strategic IT category management plan and the underlying sourcing strategies, supplier, and contract management as well as policy and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for ensuring that the IT category management plan is fully integrated and adopted within relevant Faculties and Services.
  • Develop and manage the procurement and supply chain strategies for the department.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are in line with the organisation's guidelines and policies.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement projects from start to finish.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends to inform procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Report on procurement activities and performance.

Profile

A successful Category Manager - IT Category Manager should have:

  • Substantial experience in developing and leading a strategic IT category plan, including developing strategic sourcing strategies, and using market knowledge and data analysis to inform the underlying strategy and decisions
  • Able to lead tenders and supplier commercial and contract negotiations focusing on achieving value for money as well as direct savings
  • Have experience in building strategic relationships with key stakeholders to achieve a position as trusted advisor on procurement and commercial matters
  • Have knowledge of current procurement standards and regulations and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with these
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management. You must have worked as an IT Category Manager in ideally both public and private sector
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and data.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant procurement software.
