OVERVIEW
We are seeking 3 Quality Control Technicians for our client in Newcastle for an initial 12-month period. Essential qualifications include experience in Receiving Inspection, proficiency with Microsoft products, and the ability to interpret specifications and drawings. Experience in writing detailed reports, such as Non-Conformance Reports, is advantageous.
ROLE DUTIES
Shift-Based Responsibilities:
- Conduct certification reviews and visual inspections as required, fully trained in all QC Technician aspects.
- Provide shift cover for holidays, sickness, and other absences, often on short notice.
Primary Duties:
- Report directly to the Quality Control Supervisor on various Quality Control issues.
- Liaise with functional groups for all Quality Control-related activities and problems.
- Interface with customers, third-party representatives, and certifying authorities as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to work centers for training process inspectors.
- Write and revise Quality Control procedures and related documentation.
- Assist in failure analysis and perform Receiving Inspection.
- Complete pipe maps and verify dimensional and inspection reports for product conformance.
- Ensure identification and traceability of products and materials throughout the manufacturing process.
- Write detailed reports and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
- Conduct random verification and auditing of inspection activities and laboratory testing.
- Perform calibration of measuring and test equipment.
- Inspect and approve Flexlok and Carcass profile samples.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support for Quality Control requirements on work centers and projects.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Control Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not include supervisory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ONC/HNC from an accredited institution, or substantial experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
EXPERIENCE
- Working knowledge of ISO/API Quality Systems, Quality practices, and Continuous Improvement Tools.
- Ability to respond to common enquiries from management.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance. instructions, procedure manuals, and detailed drawings.
- Competent in all process inspection activities.
- Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Goods Receiving Inspection Systems and/or supplier certification is desirable.
The shift pattern for shift workers is a 4-shift pattern (Days (7am-7pm) and nights (7pm-7am), repeating every 4 weeks).
£30 per hour standard rate, plus various shift allowance Estimated annual salary of £56,000
