We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with significant experience in refurbishment work on social projects to join their growing team in Sunderland on a permanent basis.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing the financials of refurbishment projects, specifically focused on social housing. You will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial cost planning to final account, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Key Responsibilities:* Managing the cost and budget of refurbishment projects, ensuring projects stay within financial constraints.* Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for refurbishment work.* Procuring subcontractors and managing their contracts, including negotiating costs and terms.* Cost control and monitoring, ensuring accurate reporting and identifying potential savings.* Working closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.* Preparing and reviewing contractual documents and scope of works for social housing projects.* Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements on-site.* Managing and overseeing variations to the contract and addressing any changes in scope.* Providing advice on value engineering and cost-saving solutions.What We Are Looking For:* Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in refurbishment work on social housing projects.* Proven track record in cost management, contract administration, and financial control for refurbishment projects.* Strong understanding of social housing refurbishment regulations and standards.* Ability to produce accurate and detailed cost plans, estimates, and financial reports.* Knowledge of JCT contracts and other common construction contracts.* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.* Strong negotiation and communication skills.* Relevant qualifications such as a RICS accreditation (or working towards it) are desirable.Why Join Us:* Permanent role with a well-established National Contractor.* Competitive salary and benefits package.* Opportunity to work on high-profile refurbishment projects within the social housing sector.* Long-term career progression within a growing company.* Supportive and dynamic working environment.How to Apply:If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in refurbishment work on social housing projects, we would love to hear from you.
