About the Role:

As an ECT Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality mathematics lessons to secondary school students. You will work under the guidance of experienced educators, gaining valuable mentorship and training to refine your teaching skills. The school fosters an environment where newly qualified teachers are encouraged to grow professionally, offering a structured induction programme and continued support throughout your ECT years.

Responsibilities of the ECT Teacher Maths:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons that align with the national curriculum.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies to inspire students and enhance their problem-solving skills.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs.
  • Develop a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and school leadership to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and participate in the school’s ECT induction programme.

Requirements of the ECT Teacher Maths:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS as part of the ECT programme.
  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring Mathematics, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a passion for teaching, with a commitment to fostering academic excellence.
  • Passion for Mathematics and a commitment to delivering outstanding education.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
