Town Planning Roles - Graduate to Senior Planner Levels
Location: Newcastle

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a major UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy our team and seeking talented Graduate Planners, Planners, and Senior Planners to join a leading UK planning consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile development projects across a variety of sectors, including urban regeneration, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with clients to understand their planning needs and guiding them through the planning process
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations
  • Managing a diverse range of planning projects in areas such as marine, environmental, infrastructure, and renewable energy
  • Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to promote and advocate for development projects
  • Supporting and managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
  • Staying up-to-date with planning legislation, policy changes, and best practices

What We're Looking For:

  • Graduate Planner: A degree (or equivalent) in Planning or a related field. A keen interest in urban development and planning.
  • Planner: 1-3 years of experience in town planning or a planning consultancy. Experience with EIA projects is a plus.
  • Senior Planner: 3+ years of experience in planning consultancy, project management, and EIA. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, local authorities, and teams
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management
  • A commitment to sustainable, responsible development
