Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead Newcastle onsite to £150k+

Do you have expertise with modern full stack software engineering from engaging user interfaces through to complex, scalable backend systems, APIs and DevOps / deployment?

You could be progressing your career in a hands-on technical leadership role, working on complex and interesting systems at a FinTech start-up, they have secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a scaling tech company in an influential role.

As a Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead you'll head up a team of 5-6 other Full Stack Software Engineers, providing technical leadership and mentoring whilst remaining hands-on with building complex financial trading systems using a range of technology including JavaScript, Node, C#, SQL, Docker and Kubernetes.

You'll collaborate with various teams to develop features that enhance the overall user experience, focusing on usability, accessibility and performance, design and implement the core logic that drives the applications and ensure that testing is integral to the CI/CD pipeline.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday).

About you:

  • You have advanced Full Stack Software Engineering experience, having used a range of technology and happy to work with the following tech stack: JavaScript, Node, C#, Docker, Kubernetes Github
  • You have experience of leading technical projects and providing technical direction to a small team
  • You have a strong knowledge of SQL databases
  • You have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, Algorithms
  • You're entrepreneurial with good business acumen, keen to take ownership and lead projects
  • You're collaborative, enjoy problem solving and sharing ideas
  • You have an outstanding record of academic achievement - minimum 2.1 in a STEM discipline from a top tier university (i.e. Russel Group or top 100 global university), backed by A grades at A-level
