I am looking to add a Lead C++ Developer to lead a talented team of software and test engineers to develop, implement and maintain safety-critical systems within a business who have grown by 70% in the last two years.

  • You’ll be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a team of software and test engineers. It’s important that you encourage a collaborative and innovative team environment by driving continuous improvement in software development practices and ensure the team adheres to development best practices and company policies.
  • You'll still be pretty hands on, getting involved with the coding side of the role with your team.
  • Manage software development projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Effectively manage projects by coordinating with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular updates, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. 

Technical / Person Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience in C++ development.
  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Proven experience in developing safety-critical systems up to SIL2.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Worked in small – medium sized teams where you have shown influence and positive change
  • You will currently be in a leadership role where you have proven team management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Mentoring / coaching

Overall Package info

  • Base salary up to £75,000 dependant upon experience
