The role itself would consist of working with our learners aged 16-19 years old with additional Special needs (SEND). You will support these particular students in classes in both one to one and small group setting, working with the larger student support department to ensure learners have the best experience possible in classrooms.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have the following skills and qualifications, or be willing to work towards: 

  • An experience or background in working with young people with additional SEND needs, or those who have worked with hard to engage young people 

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour. 

  • Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting os desirable but not essential 

  • A good communicator, and above all else be a kind and resilient person. 

  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to apply for one via Reed.
