Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

* The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.* Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour* Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create inspirational learning environments.* Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner* Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.* Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress* Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.* Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

About the School:

* The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Newcastle.* The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range. The pupils at the PRU have been excluded from mainstream School.* The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

* Pay - Between £130-200 per day * Hours - 08.30-16.00* Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.* Start Date - ASAP* Location - Newcastle

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

* An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)* QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.* Strong Behaviour Management skills. The pupils min the PRU have been temporarily excluded from mainstream school, so challenging behaviour is common.* Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum* Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport* A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work* Experience of Teaching within the UK* A genuine passion for Teaching* Strong organisation and communication skills
