Greys  have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work within a multi-disciplinary Therapy team. This would be a temporary position for a maternity cover. Are you looking for a fixed term contract role?

Speech and Language Therapists within special educational needs colleges play a vital role in supporting students and their families with specialist interventions such as both hight-tech and low-tech AAC, signing systems and social skill development. The successful candidate would provide input to a caseload of students with complex speech, language and communication needs as well as possible dysphagia needs.

You would become part of an existing, dedicated team of therapists who strive to deliver best practice at all times. ?With opportunities to shape a service to meet the ever-changing needs of those you support.

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to work successfully as part of an educational, trans-disciplinary team.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to be personally well organised and to be able to help others to become well organised.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to communicate clearly with parents in writing and when talking with them

• Ability to keep sound and efficient records.

• Proven ability to plan effectively and differentiate to meet individual pupil needs.

• Knowledge of a range of therapy strategies appropriate for children with complex special needs including ASD and challenging behaviour.

• Good group management skills.

• Knowledge and experience of issues related to complex Autistic Spectrum Condition.
