Multi-Skilled Service Engineer (National)

£18.50 per hour plus overtime rates and bonus 

Full time (45 hours) Temporary to permanent 

After 45 hours Time x 1.5 applies during the week and if necessary x2 at the weekend.

Site based in the North East with national travel

We are looking for an experienced Installation/Service Engineer to join our team, working across various locations in the UK. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and automated systems in commercial and industrial settings. Some weekend work may be required depending on project needs.

You can expect to be away Monday to Friday across the UK working on client sites either independantly or, with a colleague.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a good understanding of electrical systems. Previous experience in servicing and repairing industrial equipment is essential. A proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key attributes for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and follow installation guidelines.
  • Perform electrical wiring tasks, including first and second fix, connection, and fault-finding on single and three-phase control panels.
  • Ensure accurate stock management of parts and materials.
  • Use mobile devices to log completed work and receive job instructions efficiently.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in working with electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in industrial system servicing and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with control systems and automation-related electrical components.
  • Driving licence
