Practical Welder Trainer

An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Practical Welder Trainer.

The purpose of the role you will be responsible to help develop the next generation of welding professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on welding training, assessing learners, and ensuring high-quality instruction aligned with industry standards

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and supervision across various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, MMA, and FCAW).
  • Assess learner competency in welding skills, ensuring compliance with industry standards (BS EN & ASME codes).
  • Provide feedback, support, and mentoring to learners to help them progress.
  • Assess trainee performance through practical demonstrations and assessments.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to trainees to enhance their skill levels and confidence.
  • Develop and adapt training materials to suit different skill levels and learning styles.
  • Ensure all training adheres to industry standards, best practices, and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain training equipment and ensure it is in good working order.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in welding (MIG, TIG, MMA, FCAW).
  • Recognised welding qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (BS EN, ASME, ISO).
  • Previous experience in training, coaching, or mentoring welders.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in welding environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for developing others and sharing industry knowledge.

Desirable:

Experience working in a training or educational setting.

CSCS or equivalent health & safety certification.

Competitive remuneration package offered.

£19.66 per hour (Additional overtime available)
