My client is the leading luxury sofa hand crafted furniture maker in Europe and has bought a £300 million Turnover UK furniture company with 100 stores UK wide, and is looking for a brilliant Italian speaking Retail/Commercial Director.

You must speak Italian and have a deep understanding of the UK Furniture market and be willing to spend part of your week in the North East office and happy to travel to Italy on occasion.

This is not a corporate but a family owned company so you need to be comfortable working for a driven owner entrepreneur who is very down to earth with no airs or graces about him.

In a nutshell

The professional MUST speak Italian or be willing to learn quickly

You need to be from the Furniture sector (Not B2B or Wholesale)

You should also help in defining the pricing for the collection

You will need to monitor and optimise the margins

You will need to monitor and control store cost whilst able to analyse and improve store profitability

There would be an element of beingable to ensurethe continuous training of the salespeople and other personnel under your area.

Lastly in addition youwill need to cooperate with the marketing team to define the promotions and the promotional calendar

This is a fast paced environment with all 100 stores undergoing going full refurbishment and rebranding so you need to be happy to manage this period of change! Having spent time with the UK team I can tell you they are super friendly down to earth just in need of a leader and a boss to steer the UK ship, whilst you would report into Italy.
