Our client is a well-established leading design and manufacturing business seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance in a varied role encompassing HR and IT. This will be an excellent opportunity for the right person to work strategically in their finance specialism as well as working very closely with the MD to support him in other key areas such as Procurement and Project Management. You will be key to developing and delivering strategic growth plans for the company.

You will help to shape and implement changes and improvements to ensure the entire business remains as efficient as possible and delivers growth.

You will support the MD in key decisions and provide him and the wider team with robust data that facilitates well informed decision making.

You will communicate with external stake holders in a clear, timely and robust manner.

Managing the finance team (of 5) and helping with their development will be a key part of the role.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure accurate and timely management data in compliance with UK accounting standards and in formats required to facilitate the team making meaningful decisions, whilst satisfying the requirements of all relevant stakeholders and UK audit requirements.

A proactive approach to working capital management that drives liquidity with specific attention to stock, debtors and creditors and the management of foreign currency exposures.

Ensure we deploy appropriate and robust IT solutions working closely with external third parties on support and security.

Work closely with all departments to ensure financial expectations are met or exceeded.

Support the MD and wider team with the goal of coaching and developing the senior management team to improve communication and efficiently delivering the company goals and objectives.

Ensuring integrity and transparency are key and embedded in all reporting.

Developing and executing an appropriate and effective taxation strategy.

Manage relationships with third parties such as insurance brokers and providers of pension schemes and benefit schemes and crucially the auditors ensuring the annual audit is conducted efficiently and quickly.

Manage the internal HR resource and support to ensure all policies and procedures are legally compliant and in line with best practice.

Undertake people management activities such as performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes in collaboration with HR.

Person Specification

Essential

CIMA or ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post qualification experience.

At least 2 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment and experience in an SME environment

Experienced in managing a HR department/function.

A passion for IT

MS Excel Advanced

Hard working and diligent. Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations

Commercial business awareness

Excellent communicator

Desirable

Sage 200 experience

Experience / knowledge of Power BI reports.

ERP / MRP Systems
