Salary: Circa £45,000

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

About the Role:


As a Production Manager, you will ensure that customer expectations are not just met but exceeded through effective order fulfilment, support, and service. The role involves planning, organising, and controlling production processes to ensure efficiency, timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire production process, including scheduling. Adjust production schedules as necessary to meet demands.
  • Manage materials, resources, personnel, holidays, and coverage, while forecasting labor needs in line with budget expectations.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on production efficiency, overdue tasks, and on-time delivery KPIs.
  • Lead and participate in daily production meetings.
  • Maintain a long-term capacity plan.
  • Assist in defining and implementing standards and processes.
  • Ensure swift and accurate responses to stakeholders, taking ownership of resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with Production Engineers as required.
  • Ensure operational consistency across shifts through comprehensive work instructions (WIs) and training.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of automation and well-managed production environments.
  • Proficiency in numeracy, literacy, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and clear production planning.
  • A structured approach to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory flow and production control processes.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
