Location: Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council
Pay Rate: 28 - 30 per hour (umbrella)

Contract: 3 months temporary

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Housing Options and Homelessness Advisor to contribute to the delivery of the Newcastle Housing Advice service. You will focus on homelessness prevention, housing advice, and ensuring the Council's statutory duties are met. This role emphasises early intervention, collaborative working, and innovative solutions for vulnerable residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide housing advice and manage homelessness applications, including investigations and decision-making.
  • Develop tailored personal housing plans (PHPs) and coordinate temporary accommodation placements.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to prevent homelessness and secure suitable housing.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage complex cases, and support tenancy sustainability.
  • Participate in the Out-of-Hours Homelessness Duty rota.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in housing advice and homelessness services.
  • Knowledge of current housing legislation and ability to handle caseloads effectively.
  • Experience using Locata (homeless and housing register modules) and assessing housing applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a focus on early intervention.
  • Ability to attend the office 3 days per week.
