We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join our clients well established team based in Lockerbie. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical maintenance, with a strong focus on hydraulics, pneumatics and motors. This role is key to ensuring the continuous operation and efficiency of mechanical systems in a sustainable and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including sawmill machinery, conveyors, and other industrial equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Work with hydraulic and pneumatic components, diagnosing issues and ensuring proper functioning across all systems.
  • System Upgrades & Installations: Assist in the installation, upgrading, and commissioning of new machinery, ensuring mechanical systems are integrated efficiently.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules for machinery and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and improve long-term reliability.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all mechanical operations comply with safety standards and contribute to maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.
